INSTEP Supports Bilateral Relations with Developing Countries through MTCP 2025 Programme

INSTEP, in collaboration with the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), organised a training from 7–15 September 2025, emphasising the theme of ‘Energy Transition through Sustainability and Technology Approach’, bringing together 17 participants from 10 countries. The programme concluded with a closing ceremony on 12 September 2025 at Perdana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Designed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the energy value chain, sustainability practices within the energy sector, and the pivotal role of technology in driving the energy transition, the programme offered a blend of theoretical and practical learning.

It began with a two-day Overview of Petroleum Industry (OOPI) conducted at INSTEP’s Upstream and Downstream Training Plant (UDTP), where participants experienced a simulated real-plant environment under safe conditions.

Subsequent sessions combined classroom learning with experiential exposure through industrial site visits, including the Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Facility and the Centre for Offshore Renewable Energy (CEFORE).

The programme concluded with visit to Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur, for cultural immersion activities.

  1. The course fees are fully sponsored by the Government of Malaysia.
  2. Applications should be made using the prescribed MTCP forms available through https://mtcp.kln.gov.my/mtcpforms/MTCP_APPLICATION_FORM_(PHYSICAL_COURSE).pdf . MTCP application forms can also be obtained from the nearest Malaysian Embassy / High Commission in MTCP recipient countries. Submitted application forms must be accompanied by the following documents:
    • Copy of Passport (all coloured pages including blank pages, front & back cover)
    • 2 copies Passport sized photo (3.5cm x 5cm) (White background)
    • 6 months passport validity
    • Medical Report (with clinic’s official seal)
  3. All application forms must be duly completed and endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of candidates’ respective countries and should be submitted only through the diplomatic channel via Malaysian Embassy/ High Commission of   Malaysia.
  4. Successful candidates will be duly notified by INSTEP one (1) month before the commencement of the course.
  5. Incomplete and/or unendorsed forms will not be considered.
  6. Application Deadline/ Closing Date of Application: 11th July 2025
