INSTEP Inspires 36 Primary School Students through Discovery Day

INSTEP recently welcomed 36 primary school students from SK Chabang 4 for its Discovery Day programme, designed to introduce young minds to the world of the oil and gas industry. The initiative also aimed to spark interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) among students at the early stage of their education.

The day kicked off with an engaging sharing session titled “Jom Kenali Industri Oil dan Gas”, delivered by En. Aswade bin Ali, an Exploration and Production (E&P) Instructor at INSTEP.

The session provided a simplified overview of the oil and gas industry, and was presented in a fun and relatable tone to capture the students’ interest. The session concluded with a lively quiz to test their newfound knowledge and understanding.

“INSTEP sees this as an opportunity to give back to the community. One of the best investments we can make is exposing young students to the oil and gas industry early on. By sparking their curiosity in STEM, we hope to cultivate future talents who will one day contribute meaningfully to society,” remarked Ts. Azhar bin Ahmad on this programme.

As of August 2025, the INSTEP Discovery Day initiative has successfully reached 111 secondary school students and 36 primary school students since its inception in 2024, continuing its mission to inspire and educate the next generation.
