After winning the MSOSH Gold Class 1 Award for three consecutive years, INSTEP stepped up its efforts and received the MSOSH Gold Merit Award. This indicates INSTEP’s commitment to improving and striving for excellence in the Safety and Health Management system and, supporting the company objective, to create a generative HSSE culture.
The awardees were announced on 5 October 2022 and the award ceremony was held on 21 December 2022, at Sunway Resort & Spa, with INSTEP Head of Training Plant and Asset Management, Mr. Haziman Mamat Yusof in presence to receive the award. Additionally present at the ceremony were Mr. Mohd Anuar Embi, Director of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, and Mr. Ahmad Fakhrul Anuar Ismail, President of MSOSH.
The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the Social Security Organization (SOCSO), the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), SIRIM Berhad, the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF), the MSOSH, multinational corporations, and private companies conducted documentation and site verification audit reports before rewarding INSTEP with this award.
Mr. Alizan Ismail, INSTEP Head of the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Department, expressed his appreciation for the efforts undertaken in order to win this award. “Everyone should celebrate that INSTEP won this award instead of just INSTEP HSSE Department. This recognition demonstrates INSTEP’s unwavering commitment to moving forward in establishing a Generative HSE Culture, where we strive to go beyond the line of responsibility.”
In order to achieve high quality safety standards as the preferred technical learning solutions, INSTEP Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Idris Ibrahim, asked for concerted efforts by the INSTEP community to flourish even more in the upcoming times. “INSTEP is on the right track to raise the bar for occupational safety and health, but we must make sure that we retain or, even better, that we improve this high standard of performance.”
Since its establishment in 1981, the institute has produced more than 130,000 skilled technical employees all over the world. As it enters its fourth decade in 2022, INSTEP aspires to take its role as the technical learning solutions partner even further in retooling the human capital equation in the energy sector.
