Once again, INSTEP has proven its unwavering commitment to excellence by clinching the prestigious Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Training Provider award at the Human Resources Development (HRD) Awards 2024. This remarkable achievement marks INSTEP’s fourth honour from the HRD Corporation, strengthening its legacy as a leading technical institution. With accolades spanning nearly a decade, including the 2023 Best Training Provider in the East Coast region, the distinguished Data Analytics Award in 2017, and its pioneering Training Provider Award in 2014, INSTEP continues to set new standards in technical and vocational training.
The HRD Awards is Malaysia’s premier award that celebrates human capital excellence. Since its inception in 2001, the HRD Awards aimed to honour outstanding achievements and creative ideas in human resource development. It acknowledges employers, training providers, and trainers who have not only shown high professional standards but have also played a significant role in shaping the country’s workforce and fostering innovation.
The winners were celebrated at the gala dinner in Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur on 7 November 2024. Also present during the event was Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof.
Through the nomination invitation in July 2024, INSTEP participated in the award under the category of Excellence in Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) Award. This award recognises training providers who demonstrate exceptional excellence in delivering TVET training programmes.
As PETRONAS’s technical training arm, INSTEP has produced over 156,000 industry and PETRONAS workforce since its establishment in 1981. In 2023, INSTEP successfully conducted a total of 1,860 sessions, a testament to our unwavering commitment in fulfilling the learning needs of our clients.
Additionally, INSTEP plays a key role in strengthening Malaysia’s TVET by aligning training with industry needs, enhancing skills development, and supporting national economic goals. INSTEP’s objectives align with the National TVET Framework 2030 through initiatives like the Oil & Gas Wakalah TVET Programme and the TVET programme at Kimanis Petroleum Training Center, while also uplifting the socio-economic status of the B40 group.
INSTEP is also the exclusive executor of the PETRONAS Vocational Institution Support and Technical Assistance (VISTA) initiative, which aims to support TVET institutions in Malaysia.
