Posted date: 03 November 2024

INSTEP welcomes 48 Terengganu youths for its second batch of Oil & Gas Wakalah TVET Programme (OGWTP), on 26 October 2024.

This is the second cohort of the OGWTP, a collaboration between INSTEP and Yayasan Pendidikan MAIDAM (YPM), following the successful completion of the first batch in June 2024.

The selected individuals were chosen after a comprehensive technical interview conducted a month prior. Bringing together the participants from diverse educational backgrounds, this programme is scheduled to run from October 2024 to February 2025.

Corporate and HSE briefing by INSTEP staff during the induction day for learners.

The programme will feature hands-on training at INSTEP’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the Upstream Downstream Training Plant (UDTP), which simulates real-life operational scenarios. Addition to that, the learners will be equipped with Competency Certificate such BOSIET, Instrument Fitter & Basic Occupational First Aider.

Asyraf, 22, hailing from Dungun, left his SUKMA career to resume his studies at INSTEP after previously discontinuing his diploma. As the sole breadwinner for his family, following his parents’ injuries which prevented them from working, Asyraf is deeply motivated to pursue his education at INSTEP to build a better future.

This collaborative approach underscores INSTEP’s commitment to developing a versatile and job-ready technical workforce that can excel in various sectors of the energy industry.

“Fulfilling our roles as a sustainable technical training center, this collaborative approach underscores INSTEP’s commitment to developing job-ready technical workforce capable of supporting the energy industry’s growth across multiple levels,” commented En. Mohamad bin Nasir, Chief Executive Officer of INSTEP.
