Eleven engineers from INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) had successfully completed Health Safety & Environment – On Job Training (HSE-OJT) programme in INSTEP recently, on 24 October 2024 following a month of comprehensive training programme.
INPEX , Japan’s largest exploration and production (E&P) company, is prominent globally as one of the major players in production of clean, efficient and reliable natural gas.
The HSE-OJT Programme is a product of the strategic partnership between INSTEP and INPEX , designed to equip the engineers with advanced skills and knowledge essential for the evolving energy sector. The training programme comprises of intensive modules under HSE including Safe System of Work, Job Hazard Analysis, Working at Height, and Environmental Management Awareness.
“This is the ninth batch of engineers from INPEX to participate in our training programme since its commencement in 2017. INSTEP being selected as the preferred learning solutions for an international company such as INPEX reflects our capability in developing technical talent and enhancing industry expertise globally,” said Chief Executive of INSTEP, Mr. Mohamad bin Nasir.
The training modules complete with theoretical learning in classroom and practical hands-on in INSTEP Upstream Downstream Training Plant (UDTP), provides the learners with experiential learning, preparing them for real life working scenario prior to entering the industry upon their programme completion.
Expressing his gratitude and reminiscing the memory of the scorching heat while doing on-ground fire-fighting exercises, Tenho Taki emphasised on the importance of healthy physical conditions and safe way of working in his appreciation speech.
“Over the four-week training, we have not only deepened our knowledge of HSE practices but also developed our social and soft skills through weekly visits to explore Terengganu and by socialising with fellow learners at INSTEP,” he added.
